Job Description:

The Marketing and Communications department with the W. P. Carey School of Business is looking for an organized, detailed individual who is self-motivated and understands how to meet support service needs within a highly productive and creative environment.  The Marketing Coordinator will work collaboratively with graphic designers and other editorial staff to provide project management and marketing functions in support of school goals and in accordance with priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.


Essential Duties:

In collaboration with staff, coordinates timeline of projects to ensure completion by given deadlines and reviews work product in order to update/change as needed.

Management of tactical marketing plans and projects for Alumni Relations, Corporate Relations, Departments, and other school units as needed.

Coordination of event marketing by identifying, assembling, and organizing tactical requirements, developing schedules, and managing event lists and reporting to ensure success.

Assistance with the development and documentation of workflows, processes, and procedures in support of department efficiencies.

Support of department market research initiatives, including the W. P. Carey Marketing & Communications Student Advisory Group.

Collaboration with marketing managers to assist with execution of project deliverables as needed.

Monitor industry and other university trends, keeping marketing team and executives informed of emerging trends and opportunities.

Assists with developing workflow, procedures, and associated processes.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications:

Evidence of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field preferred

Experience in higher education a plus

Experience working in an agency or in house marketing and communications team a plus

Experience working with a project management system, creative asset production, printers, freelance designers and web developers a plus

Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Experience in handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high energy environment


Working Environment:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse

Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work

Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds

Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts

Clearly communicate to perform essential functions

Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
