Purchases and places online advertising as well as provide strategic oversight to PPC and SEM campaigns. Negotiates rates with media publishers and recommends digital media buying opportunities. Responsible for the implementation of campaigns using buying software and the agency ad server. Also conducts post-buy media analysis, and tracks and reports on results.


Personally or through direct reports, this position performs the following duties:


  • Provides high level strategic support to clients and analyzes campaign performance in an effort ot drive strategy
  • Oversees and manages client media budgets
  • Develops online media buying strategies
  • Executes plans through negotiation and placement
  • Approves performance management and makegood
  • Leads compilation of campaign performance reporting
  • Leads decisions and approvals for campaign optimization
  • Utilizes third party tools to develop media strategies
  • Leads and supervises the trafficking of digital campaigns
  • Provides assistance to the Director and Supervisor
  • Approves vendor invoices and media invoices


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staffers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching staffers; addressing complaints and resolving problems both internal and external.


Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in digital media planning and buying
  • Some agency experience preferred
  • Experience with negotiating substantial added value for clients
  • Experience utilizing third party data to inform media plans
  • A working knowledge of online advertising concepts (behavioral, retargeting, RTB/DSP etc.)
  • Previous experiencing supervising a digital account team


  • Superb oral, written and client facing communication skills
  • Proven track record of logical problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of a PC or Mac; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel to include graphs, pivot tables, complex formulas, VBA) PowerPoint or Keynote

  • Experience with ad servers DCM
  • Experience with the Google Analytics platform and Adwords
  • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager
